Our residential services range from fully custom homes to renovations, restorations, and additions. Matthew personally interacts with buyers and coordinates the design process and manages all aspects of construction details including site layout, cost estimates, schedules, value engineering, subcontractor and material supplier management. What you can expect is direct owner involvement on a weekly basis along with direct site supervision to ensure project deliverables are met.

We will be in constant communication with you regarding schedule, budget updates and what you can expect during each step of the process. Matthew provides one-on-one communication with each client to ensure attention to detail is met at every phase of the construction process. We work closely with you to create your own personal style and signature.

Whether you are looking to update your home, restore a historic building, or add a new space, we have the expertise and experience to make your vision a reality. We provide the same level of care as we would if building a custom home. We are passionate about not only building new construction and custom homes, but also remodeling or revitalizing outdated homes or buildings.

Custom Home Process

 

The custom home building process can take anywhere from several months to a year or more, depending on the complexity of the project and the availability of materials and labor. The building process typically involves several stages and our team is with you managing every stage of the process. Throughout the process, we work closely with you to ensure that your vision is being realized and that the project is staying on track and within budget. Effective communication and collaboration between you and our team are essential to the success of the project.

1. Initial Consultation

The first step in building a custom home is to meet with you to discuss your vision, needs, and budget. This consultation helps to establish the scope of the project and allows us to provide an estimate of the costs and timeline.

2. Planning & Design

In this stage, we execute an engagement agreement and deposit. You work with our design team to develop a design plan for your home. Our team will work with you to ensure we create a customized plan that meets your needs, preferences, and budget. We provide a template and work with you in choosing your material selections.

3. Construction Contract

After the design plan is finalized, we will create a detailed construction contract that outlines the scope of work, costs, and timeline. Once you approve the contract, construction can begin.

4. Permits & Approvals

Before construction can begin, the necessary permits and approvals must be obtained from local government agencies. This can involve zoning approvals, building permits, and environmental impact assessments. 

5. Site Preparation

This stage involves preparing the construction site by clearing the land, grading the soil, and installing utilities and infrastructure.

6. Foundation & Framing

The foundation is constructed and the framing for the home is erected. This is typically the most time-consuming stage of the process.

7. Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC

The electrical, plumbing, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems are installed. 

8. Interior & Exterior Finishes

This stage involves installing insulation, drywall, flooring, cabinets, countertops, and other interior finishes. Exterior finishes, such as siding and roofing, are also installed.

9. Landscaping & Final Touches

Once the interior and exterior finishes are complete, the landscaping is installed and final touches, such as painting and trim work, are added.

Your home is inspected to ensure that it meets all building codes and regulations. Once it passes inspection, you can move in and enjoy your new custom-built home.
