Quinn Custom Homes is a locally owned Northern Colorado homebuilding company shaped by the deep construction expertise behind its parent organization, MQ3 Construction LLC. Together, the two companies bring more than 30 years of commercial, residential, and development experience to every project—uniting the technical strength of a seasoned general contractor with the personal, design-focused care of a custom homebuilder.
Founded by Matthew Proehl, a LEED AP–accredited construction professional, MQ3 Construction serves as the backbone of the brand family. Matthew’s career includes managing large-scale commercial and institutional projects—ranging from small residential renovations to $149 million healthcare, federal, and high-performance LEED-certified facilities across Colorado and the Western United States. His leadership in complex environments, tight schedule control, and strict quality-assurance processes directly inform the elevated construction standards that define Quinn Custom Homes today.
Quinn’s origin began in 2011, when Matthew and his wife Melissa, a Northern Colorado native, built their own custom home together. In taking on this massive project as a couple, they quickly discovered the known adage, “until death building a house do us part,” couldn’t be further from the truth. What began as a personal milestone quickly revealed a shared passion. Matthew brought his general contracting expertise and ability to turn design concepts into clear, actionable steps, while Melissa contributed her business background, design sensibility, and meticulous attention to detail. Their combined strengths made the process not only successful—but inspiring. It became the foundation for a homebuilding company grounded in care, craftsmanship, and genuine partnership.
Today, Quinn Custom Homes operates with the full support, resources, and construction rigor of MQ3 Construction. This integrated structure allows Quinn to deliver custom homes with the precision, structural integrity, and long-term durability typically reserved for large commercial projects—while still providing the warmth, communication, and personal experience homeowners deserve.

Matthew Proehl
Matthew is LEED AP accredited and is an expert in the field of construction. He has over 30 years of experience and multiple recognitions and awards including Colorado Construction’s 2009 “Top 20 Under 40” as well as being nominated as “Project Manager of the Year” by the American Subcontractors Association of New Mexico.
